Kaunas is situated in the centre of Lithuania, just
100 kilometers from the capital city Vilnius.
Kaunas may be reached by air, train, bus, ferry
(arrival to Klaipėda) or car depending where you are from.
One of the most convenient means of transport is plain
although not the cheapest.
By plain
Lithuania has three international airports in Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga from which main European cities as well as of the world can be reached. Cheap flights companies Ryanair (to Kaunas) and airBaltic (to Vilnius) can offer you an affordable ticket from many big cities of Europe.
Kaunas International Airport is located 12 km
far from Kaunas and the Kaunas city centre is easy reached by minibus No 120
(get off at the bus stop „Kaunas Old Castle") or by bus No. 29
(get off at the bus stop „Bus Station"). The duration of trip is about 30
minutes and cost less than 1 EUR.
There are direct flights to Kaunas from London,
Liverpool, Dublin and Frankfurt and many possibilities to transfer flying from
other country.

From the bus and railway stations in Vilnius (the bus terminal is opposite the train station), you can take a bus or train to go to Kaunas. Actually, we advise you to take a bus, which goes to Kaunas approximately every half an hour and costs 20-23 Lt (~7 EUR). Train departures are not so frequent.
